Most groups split the cost among passengers, which makes it more affordable than people expect. A $300/hour party bus for four hours with 25 people comes out to $48 per person. That’s cheaper than individual Ubers, and everyone stays together the entire night.
Book at least 6-8 weeks out for standard dates. For prom season (April-June) or popular wedding months (September-October), you want 2-3 months minimum.
Party buses book up fast because there are only so many vehicles available in Ocean County. Prom weekends sell out first. Saturday weddings in peak season go next. If you’re flexible on dates or willing to do a Friday or Sunday, you’ll have more options closer to your event.
Last-minute bookings sometimes work if we have availability, but you’re rolling the dice. The groups that wait until two weeks before prom usually end up scrambling or paying premium rates for whatever’s left. The groups that book early get their preferred vehicle, their preferred time slot, and better rates.
Your rate includes the vehicle, the driver, fuel, standard tolls, and insurance. You’re paying for the time block you book, whether that’s four hours or eight hours.
What’s not included: gratuity for your driver (typically 15-20%), any damage to the vehicle, and excessive cleaning fees if your group leaves the bus trashed. Most rental agreements also prohibit smoking and have policies about alcohol consumption that you’ll need to follow.
We don’t charge extra for reasonable route changes or multiple stops within your time block. If you booked six hours and want to hit three different venues in Ocean County, that’s fine. We’re not nickel-and-diming you for every turn. The hidden fee game is exactly what gives this industry a bad reputation, and we don’t play it.
Yes, passengers 21 and over can bring alcohol on board in most cases. You’ll need to follow New Jersey open container laws and our company policies, which typically means no hard liquor in glass bottles and no underage drinking.
Your driver won’t serve alcohol or monitor consumption beyond basic safety. They’re there to drive, not bartend. If someone in your group becomes disruptive or unsafe, the driver has the right to end the trip early.
For prom groups and events with minors, alcohol isn’t permitted at all. We’ve been doing this long enough to know that trying to sneak drinks onto a prom bus ends badly for everyone. Parents, schools, and law enforcement don’t mess around with that, and neither do we.
Cancellation policies vary by company, but we typically require 30-60 days notice for a full refund. Cancel closer to your date and you’re typically looking at partial refunds or forfeited deposits.
If you need to change your pickup time, add an extra hour, or adjust your route, that’s usually manageable if you give us advance notice. Day-of changes depend on availability and might come with additional charges if they significantly alter the original plan.
Weather cancellations get tricky. If there’s a legitimate safety issue (blizzard, hurricane), we’ll work with you to reschedule. If it’s just raining and you don’t feel like going out anymore, that’s still a cancellation on your end. Read your rental agreement carefully so you know exactly what you’re agreeing to before you sign.
Check for proper licensing and insurance first. In New Jersey, commercial transportation companies need specific credentials and their drivers need CDL certification. Ask to see proof of insurance and verify business registration.
Look at how long the company has been operating and whether they own their fleet or broker out reservations. We own our vehicles, which means we have direct control over maintenance and driver quality. Brokers are just middlemen who pass your booking to whoever has availability, which means you have no idea what’s actually showing up.
Read recent reviews, but focus on patterns rather than individual complaints. Every company gets a bad review occasionally. What matters is whether they consistently show up on time, maintain clean vehicles, and handle issues professionally.
